Giving a big brother to the Iroise 46
The building site Bord à Bord is a recognized Breton specialist in aluminum boats, particularly for its work units and small motor hulls, but it had not delivered a sailboat since the Iroise 46 in 2012. Faced with multiple requests, Loïc Cheynet, who took over the reins of the shipyard in 2019, turned to Pierre Delion, already at the origin of the first model, to design a new boat: “With a 10-year gap, we couldn’t have produced the same boat. By going from 46 to 48 feet, the objective is not habitability, but speed, and this seems to have been successful based on the first sailings. For the Iroise, we created a joint venture with Dream Racer Boats Armor, which is responsible for the development.”
