The SNSM training and intervention center (CFI) in Brest (Finistère) finally has its new vedette SNS7 – 008, which will be named Henri Kersalé.
Built by the shipyard Bord à Bord from Plestin-les-Grèves, delivered on May 10, the new vedette was launched at Moulin-Blanc, in Brest (Finistère) before reaching the Marina du Château.
It will replace the SNS 314 lifeboat, which has provided fifty years of faithful service at three stations. "It's a well-equipped, functional, and high-performing vessel, designed by the shipyard and its naval architect, Pierre Delion, taking into account our specific needs," emphasizes Michel Le Saout, president of the Brest SNSM Training Center, who continues, "Before its christening, with the instructors and former coxswains, we're in a familiarization phase. We need to get used to the boat's size, its operation, and the maneuvers."
